Selecting the Ideal Range Hood

Simple installation, fail-safe operation and peace of mind. These are the driving forces behind the D1000 and Designer Series (DS), our signature range hoods. Customers often ask: how do I know which option is right for my kitchen?

Specifying for a UL300A compliant space, such as a university, church, fire station or K-12 school can be a challenge. Selecting the wrong hood can lead to unnecessary redesigns, approval delays, or code compliance issues later in a project. We’re here to help you make an informed decision with confidence.

DS (Designer Series)

The DS (Designer Series) is an economical solution that protects against range-top cooking fires. It combines the look of a traditional hood with a proven suppression system, featuring fail-safe mechanical actuation, a wet chemical agent, hardwired disconnect options, and alarm contacts.

D1000

The D1000 Series includes all of the features of the DS, and more. Most notably, it is compatible with the ClockBox Pro, an accessory that password protects your range and automatically shuts it down if left unattended. The D1000 also supports additional ventilation options for flexible installation, as well as environmental monitoring for an added layer of safety.
