Places required by code to have a UL300A product for compliance by occupancy.

I-1 which consists of:
occupants are in custodial care and need no or limited assistance evacuating including:
  • Alcohol and drug centers
  • Assisted living facilities
  • Congregate Care Facilities
  • Group homes
  • Halfway houses
  • Residential board and care facilities
  • Social rehabilitation facilities
 
I-2. which consists of:
These include facilities that provide medical and nursing care that may or may not be able to provide emergency care, perform surgery, etc.,

These include:

  • Foster care facilities
  • Detoxification facilities
  • Hospitals
  • Nursing homes
  • Psychiatric hospitals
 
R-2, which consists of:

Sleeping units or more than two dwelling units where the occupants are primarily permanent including:

  • Apartment houses
  • Congregate living facilities (non-transient) with more than 16 occupants
  • Boarding houses (non-transient)
  • Convents
  • Dormitories
  • Fraternities and sororities
  • Monasteries
  • Hotels (non-transient)
  • Live/work units
  • Motels (non-transient)
  • Vacation time share properties.
